MV Bute AIS Map

The Bute is fitted with AIS (Automatic Identification System ) which is a radio transponder system that allows tracking of any ships with AIS fitted. The Bute is fitted with VHF short range AIS as the vessel only works in coastal waters. As well as transmitting a radio signal, the ships AIS also allows recieving of signals from other vessels in close range (up to about 25 miles) which can then be displayed on our radars, ECDIS, chart plotter to Identify other vessels movements.
